It was my first time and you knew it.
I should have taken the hints and quit.
You played me like a fool,
And what's worse, I let you.
No apologies because you never cared.
I never really knew you, because your feelings, you never shared.
I should have known better, but love made me blind.
I was always just too kind.
I gave you my all, but got nothing in return.
I hope one day, you will see your wrongs.
I leave you up to fate.
I hope you will find your way before it's too late.
All that hurt is fading away,
But that love I once felt, is long on its way.
You were right, I deserve better,
And I have it in this new chapter.
I take back what I said in those letters.
It was foolish of me to think that I needed you.
When all along, it was I who didn't know the truth.

Which comes first or are they simply the same?
Or even how they got their names?
It's curious how similar we are
Like the pair, we go together,
But never in the same place.
Maybe we ought to pick up the pace.

Because mine is far beyond where the eyes can see.
